Graduation Requirements

All students need 49 credits to graduate.
These requirements should be carefully considered when planning course selections for 2003-2004 and future year. Credits for graduation must be earned in the following areas:


English: 8 Theology: 8
Science: 4 Speech: 1
Mathematics: 4 Fine Arts: 2 (Recommended, not required)
Physical Education: 4 World History: 2 (Required for 9th)
U.S. History: 2 U.S. Government: 1
We the People: 1 (required for 10th) Technology: (1 minimum required while a student
at Columbus High School. Additional recommendations.)
Qualifying courses: Typing I, IBM Skills, Intro to Computer Programming,
Pascal I & II, World Wide Web, Advanced Business Technology.


To graduate from Columbus High School, a student must be in good standing with the school. All school requirements must be up to date, i.e. finances, conducts, and other obligations.
The student must be in full-time attendance at Columbus High School the semester of the student's graduation.
CREDIT RECOMMENDATIONS FOR COLLEGE ENTRANCE:

English 8
Math (a minimum) 6
Social Studies 6
Foreign Language 4
Science 6


IN ADDITION, COLLEGE CATALOGS SHOULD BE CHECKED FOR SPECIFIC ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS. THIS IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE STUDENT/PARENT. STATE UNIVERSITIES ARE BECOMING MORE RIGID IN THEIR ADHERENCE TO CORE COURSES ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS.
