Guidance Department

Grading

Each student is required to complete 49 credits to graduate.
Lost credits may be made up by requesting more credits, or discussing alternative options with the guidance staff. Taking additional credit outside of Columbus High School must be with the recommendation/approval of the guidance staff.
Students who transfer to Columbus from another high school should be in satisfactory adademic and discipline standing. Situations to the contrary will be reason to individually examine the student's enrollment application.

Grade point average is computed according to the above system. Physical education grades are computed on the basis of the grade point value x.26. Cumulative grade point average is computed on semester grades as is class rank* Honor roll is computed on semester grades. First honors: 3.6-4.0; and second honors: 3.1-3.59.
*Class rank takes into account all coursework, and reflects additional weights for accelerated curriculum.
